Once you purchase your first classic car, you might want to consider joining a classic car club. Here are five good reasons to do so.

1. You can discuss your car with people who share your passion (your family may not always be as enthusiastic).
2. Joining a club is fairly inexpensive. Annual dues usually add up to about the same as two lattes a month. Your membership will probably include invitations to monthly meetings, an annual car show, and rallies (where members drive the same road at the same time to show off to the public).
3. You can learn more about your car. Joining a club means you can rub elbows with experienced classic car owners who are more than willing to share their knowledge with you. You may even find a marque club — one that specializes in your specific make of car.
4. You can learn from industry professionals. A good club will have professional speakers or manufacturers demonstrating products.
5. It can be a good bonding experience for your family. Shows and rallies and other events are family-oriented. Your family can enjoy the attention your car gets along with you.
